Songs: "Nowadays" "No Day But Today"
Today was our Pro Semester Show. I can't believe it is is already over. It's been a joy to train with such amazing, talented, and passionate dancers over the past 4 months. The concert was so inspiring. I can't wait to see what the future holds for all of my beautiful friends. We sang "No Day But Today" from Rent in a large group, and Quinn and I performed a duet to "Nowadays" and "Hot Honey Rag" from Fosse. This was my first time performing a song live. It felt really good to sing and dance at the same time. I know this is what I am meant to do, and now that the scary first time is over, I'm ready to tackle more!

Songs: "Nowadays" "Somethings are Meant to Be"
Healthy Meal #9: Joe's whole wheat O's, organic soy milk, canaloupe, cottage cheese.

Healthy Meal #10: Healthy Korean Food. Had a shrimp salad( which I ate before I took the picture-you can see a little of the remains on the right), kimchi tofu soup, brown rice instead of white, and side dishes of veggies and fish. mmmm....I love Korean food!

Day 13
8am rehearsals for my piece and Jim Cooney's "The Story", ballet with Jack Hertzog, our closing meeting with Pro Sem, and then rehearsal with Jamie Jackson. :) A lovely day. I'm truly thankful for the opportunities BDC has given me during this program and for all the love, and encouragement my fellow dancers have shared. Daily Practice: 75 minutes.
I worked on Kurt's warm-up CD and then practiced "Nowadays".
Day 12
Day 12 blogger was underconstruction so here is a recap:
Daily Practice: 30 mins warm-up in the morning before our mock audition. Songs: "Bobby's Girl"
The prosemester students at BDC had our final mock audition. We had a few cuts of dance and then sang our 60's song. All of our judges gave helpful feedback and Lucille from MSA Talent Agency signed three people, Quinn, Brooke, and myself. (insert: high pitched scream!!!!). I'm completely humbled, overcome with joy, and excited for the future. After the audition, a couple of us went out to lunch to celebrate and debrief and then I headed over to the park to rehearse for Broadway at Harlem Meer, which is this Sunday. :)
Ended this amazing day with Tap by the amazing Ray Hesselink and hip-hop rehearsal with Jamie Jackson. :)

Day 10...The 12 hour audition day
Today I went to the Rockette Audition at 6:30am. I was in the first group. I felt great about my performance, but was not asked to stay. I then bolted to a audition for Fat Camp. They already closed the audition, but I was determined to get seen. I asked if I could go with the guys. They let me and one other girl audition with the guys. It was a BLAST! They asked me and a couple other guys to sing. They wanted Pop/Rock, so I tried "Bobby's Girl" for the first time. ( I need to start adding some pop and rock into my book). I wasn't ready to perform it for an audition. I didn't feel confident starting, but got better towards the end. The casting director also offered me a job dancing for The Ride as a pointe dancer, which will be fun. Then I auditioned for Arizona Repertory Theater. I made it past three cuts of dancing ( A Chorus Line) and then sang " A Change In Me". I felt pretty good about it, but know that I still have a lot of work to do get a stronger sound in auditions. Every time I'm able to relax and enjoy the experience more. I know I have a lot more training to do, and I'm thankful that I'm able to implement what I'm learning at BDC and in this challenge at auditions regularly. After the auditions, I had a vocal lesson with Kurt, rehearsal with Quinn and a live band for "Harlem Meer" this Sunday, and then rehearsal until 10pm with Jamie Jackson for the Pro Semester show. Whoooo a long day! Now if only I didn't have to take off work to audition today. lol Dancers are so funny in that our "job" is to take class and audition, which cost money. But I wouldn't have it any other way. It makes me really appreciate what I do and know that this is where my heart is.

Day 9
****The Student Showcase was amazing yesterday. I feel so inspired by all the different styles of dance and want to take so many classes now.
Day 9:
Daily Practice: 90 mins; mix/belt, and sustaining "e" vowels in my headvoice.
Songs: "Bobby's Girl" "Dancing in the street"
Today I took Jazz with Ginger, vocal performance with Bettina, and Street Jazz with BT.
Here are pictures from Jazz with Ginger.
Healthy Meal 6: mixed greens, cracked pepper turkey, cucumbers, carrots, balsamic vinagerette, and strawberries
Healthy Meal 7: Post performance dinner- shared mahi mahi tacos with Quinn. We each had one and a half. A very healthy choice for a late night meal, especially considering we were at 5 Napkin Burger. :)
